The ultrasound lab at Rivers Health performs a wide range of procedures, including abdominal, obstetric/gynecological, vascular and cardiac ultrasounds. Using high frequency sound waves, our advanced ultrasound technology can detect and define abnormalities with a high level of precision – all without the use of radiation.

Ultrasound imaging plays a significant role in the evaluation and treatment of numerous medical conditions, and it is used in obstetrics to assess fetal well-being, identify multiple gestations, determine gender and estimate a delivery date. However, ultrasound imaging is useful far beyond obstetric care. It is ideal for viewing the heart and blood vessels, as well as abdominal organs such as the prostate, liver, kidneys, pancreas, spleen, colon and bladder. Ultrasound can also detect gallstones, breast cysts and injuries to ligaments, tendons and nerves.
